Abstract:
It is necessary to model damage behavior in forming and crash simulations since the requirements on reliability of virtual manufacturing and virtual testing increase and relatively small failure strains of new light weight metals result in a reduction of the safety "> An efficient method for modeling strain rate effects and adiabatic heating was suggested. A main point of this work is the coupling of crash simulations with process simulations. The influences of manufacturing processes like deep drawing and die casting on damage behavior are taken into account by transferring pre-strain and pre-damage or porosity distribution calculated in a process simulation to a crash simulation.
