报告摘要：This talk will cover the environmental drivers for technological change within the gas turbine. It will also cover how Rolls-Royce is planning to meet its commitments in this area and what the impact on the components within the gas turbine will be. Some of these technological advances which may be utilised in the future will be covered, from engine architecture to novel materials.

Paul A. Withey is the Manufacturing Engineering Specialist in Casting and the Engineering Associate Fellow in Casting Technology at Rolls-Royce. He was appointed an Honorary Professor of IMR CAS in January 2009.
