Abstract: This talk will present an overview of the research strength, priorities and commercial development at the University of Queensland. The areas of sustainable energy research and nanomaterials will be highlighted.  Examples in membranes, photocatalysis and electrode materials for energy storage will be used to illustrate the importance of nanomaterials in hydrogen energy, clean coal and solar energy utilisation, as well as in water and air purification processes.
