Abstract: Biodegradable Metals are a novel class of temporary implant materials, which is getting increasing attention from academia, industry and regulatory agencies such as US-FDA. This lecture will provide a short introduction of this novel technology and lessons learned from the past. Moreover, an update on current European trends in Biodegradable Metals is provided.
