Abstract:
The rapid development of renewable energy technologies such as solar panels and windmills together with the increasing demands of massive energy storage systems from the automobile and smart grid industries are the key drivers for high-performance energy storage devices. Supercapacitors (SCs) and lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are electrochemical energy storage devices consisting of two electrodes in an electrolyte separated by a porous polymer membrane. The electrodes for both SCs and LIBs play a vital role in advancing new-generation energy storage technology. In this talk, I will discuss our recent research data on graphene-based materials as electrodes for improving the electrochemical performance of both SCs and LIBs.
