报告摘要:
Transition-metal oxides often have coupled charge-spin-orbital degrees of freedom and hence display rich properties. In this talk, using crystal-field level diagrams and density functional calculations, we address (1) a record-breaking giant magnetic anisotropy for transition metal adatoms on MgO (001) surface, (2) a d0 magnetism in C-doped ZnO and N-doped SrO, and (3) unusual charge-spin-orbital states and strong ferromagnetism in the mixed perovskites. In all these cases, orbital physics and magnetic interactions are discussed, and spin-orbital multiplet and electron correlations are handled by configuration-state constrained LSDA+U calculations.

主讲人简介:
吴骅,复旦大学物理系教授。中科院固体所博士(1999),2000-2011年先后在德国马普所和科隆大学从事科研工作,2011年4月起任复旦大学物理系教授,现担任计算物质科学教育部重点实验室副主任。从事计算凝聚态物理和计算材料科学的研究,主要关注磁电耦合氧化物、自旋电子学材料、关联氧化物中的轨道物理、以及半导体表面和磁性薄膜。已发表60多篇论文,包括12篇PRL和近30篇PRB,论文被引用近2500次。
