报告题目: Carbon nanotube CVD growth and Nano/micro hybrid reinforcements

Abstract: Additives and fillers are organic or inorganic compounds that are introduced into a matrix in order to change its properties. They can be made of glasses, ceramics, metals etc. In this talk, various configurations especially a new kind of hybrid nano/micro reinforcements are presented: from their synthesis, characterization to their associated advantages. Another important issue is the interface between the fillers and the matrix with corresponding contact problem. Finally, some attentive growth mechanisms and the application examples of these composites are discussed, especially on the aligned mm long forests.


Jinbo Bai received his Bachelor degree of Metal forming in 1982 and Master degree of Solid Mechanics from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1985 and Doctor degree of Science of Materials from Ecole Centrale Paris in 1991. He was lecturer of Mechanics of Materials in Northwestern Polytechnic University 1985-1987 and CNRS Researcher then Director of research at Lab. MSSMAT,UMR8579of Ecole Centrale Paris since 1991. His research interest cover from nuclear materials Zr&Ti, hydrogen storage and embrittlement, nano electrical and thermal contact, nano/micro hybrid fillers, composites materials, micromechanical modelling, finite element simulations, carbon nanomaterials, nano/microcomposites, micromechanical modelling and Finite element calculation, heat management, single/dual atom catalysts, energy.
