  报告一简介

  Guangdong province of China initiated an “Innovative and Entrepreneurial Research Team” program in 2010 aiming to facilitate the growth and development of various strategically industrial sectors in Guangdong province via the introduction of talented experts from oversea. The research funding provided ranges from 10 to 80 millions per team project. This lecture will provide an overview of an innovation team project entitled “Advanced Manufacturing of High Performance Ceramic Components” funded by Guangdong provincial government. The objective of this team project is to develop and commercialize various advanced silicon nitride ceramic components, such as power electronic ceramic substrate, cutting tool, and 3D printing spray nozzle, to ultimately achieve sustainable manufacturing and energy saving for targeted strategically important industries in Guangdong province and also China. The approach and goal of each task will be presented and discussed in the presentation.

  主讲嘉宾简介

  Prof. Hua-Tay Lin currently is the Distinguished Professor of Guangdong University of Technology, and the Team Leader of a Guangdong Innovation and Entrepreneurial Research Team Project “on Advanced Manufacturing of High Performance Ceramic Components” since July 2014. Prof. Lin was formerly a research group leader and distinguished R&D Staff of Materials Science and Technology Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He earned a B.S. in Physics from National Central University, Taiwan, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama. He is Academician of World Academy of Ceramic, and Fellow of ASM International and the American Ceramic Society.

  His researches mainly focus on mechanical reliability of advanced ceramic components and electronic devices, high-temperature mechanical performance of ceramics and composites, high-temperature steam effects on mechanical reliability of ceramics and environmental barrier coating systems, and engineering of microstructure and properties of ceramics and composites, and coatings. He has served as a PI on numerous programs sponsored by Department of Energy. He is the editor and co-editor of 30 peerreviewed conference proceedings, and author and co-author of more than 160 peer-reviewed publications. He has served in International Advisory Board of more than 45 international conferences/symposia and chaired/co-chaired about 75 prominent international conferences/symposia.

  He now serves as the Board of Director of the American Ceramic Society and currently is the senior Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology. He also serves as the Chair of the Journal of Materials Engineering & Performance Committee, the ASM International, and the Advisory Board member of the World Academy of Ceramics.

  当人类步入二十一世纪,能源紧缺逐渐成为了一个全球性问题。核能作为一种清洁能源,其相关技术近年来在全球范围内得到了迅速发展,新型核材料以及材料制备技术得到了极大的关注。相对于金属材料,陶瓷材料作为一种新型核用材料近年来逐渐吸引了研究者们的关注。相较于金属材料,陶瓷型核燃料(如UN、U3N4)、反应堆第一壁材料(如SiC)、核废料固化基材(合成岩、锆石、烧绿石)展现出了明显的优势。然而,陶瓷型核用材料本身性能和制备技术的局限性也限制了其工业化进程。本报告将介绍陶瓷材料在核能环境下的应用及本团队的初步工作进展。

  主讲嘉宾简介

  徐晨,中国工程物理研究院材料研究所,副研究员。2010年英国伯明翰大学学士,获一等荣誉学位,2014年英国牛津大学获博士学位。英国材料、矿物与矿冶学会会员,英国伯明翰大学Hanson Prize, Thomas Turner Prize, Engineering Graduate Prize,英国牛津大学Oxford University-Chinese Education Ministry Joint Scholarship。研究领域为面向核能和军工应用的高性能陶瓷以及先进烧结技术的研究,主要包括核燃料烧结、核废料陶瓷固化以及新型烧结技术(如闪烧技术Flash Sintering)。
