主要从事能源结构用先进特殊钢铁材料的适应性设计、组织调控和“近工况”环境下服役行为研究。研究方向包括:核用耐铅铋腐蚀高强度奥氏体不锈钢研发;油气采运用高强高韧抗硫化氢腐蚀油井套管钢材料;深海大厚壁抗大变形管线钢多组元设计与强韧塑化机制研究;新型耐微生物腐蚀管线钢材料研发等。
发表学术论文60余篇,授权发明专利20余项。
