Abstract:

Professor Lucian, a distinguished researcher from Romania, is a leading authority in the field of materials forming, with a primary focus on the constitutive modeling and formability of sheet metals. He has profoundly advanced the numerical simulation of forming processes, notably through the development of novel phenomenological yield criteria that accurately capture the anisotropic behavior of metallic sheets. Over the past decade, he has also driven progress in both experimental methodologies and theoretical frameworks for predicting and establishing forming limit curves. Beyond his core expertise in plasticity, Professor Lucian maintains a keen engagement with artificial intelligence and its emerging applications in manufacturing and materials engineering. His current research sits at the dynamic intersection of mechanics, materials science, and computational methods. In his upcoming lecture, he will present recent breakthroughs from Romania and actively foster new international collaborations.
